How to do your part in the manifesting process.

Blog-Header-Image-34

What do you need to do manifest?

It starts with getting clear on what you want. Then you ask the universe to co-create with you. Once you’ve done that, the universe is ready to do its part. But you need to do yours.

Together you will co-create what it is that you want.

So today I’m sharing the 5 things you must do in order to manifest.

Manifesting is the art of co-creating with the universe.

#1 Believe

Everything is possible when you believe.

If you think, “How do I believe when I don’t have it yet?” You are not alone. It’s also a really good question.

There are lots of ways to do this.

For instance, you can use visualization. Imagining your life as if you already have what you want is powerful. Lots of gold medals have been won that way.

When I work with my clients, I help them release the resistance to believing and use the energy of creation to actually teach them the feelings they seek. How they will feel when they have what they want. It works.

Another method is to play out your fantasy.

I first experienced this in a workshop at the Haven years ago.

I could act and play out any fantasy I wanted to experience. In my case, I wanted to experience getting engaged. I enrolled a friend to do the asking. We scheduled it up on the board. When the time came, we both made our way to a small room. There, he totally swept me off my feet and asked me to marry him.

It wasn’t real, but it felt real. I now know what that feels like.

You might be adverse to role playing, but go ahead and try it. See what happens.

  • Decide on what it is that you want to experience.
  • Identify who is in your fantasy. Consider the roles you will assign to actors.
  • Recruit your friends for a party and ask them to join you in your fantasy.
  • Assign the roles.
  • Let the fantasy unfold. Do not control it. Experience it. This is where magic happens.

Try it and see what happens.

#2 Plan & Take Action

Action leads to results, yet you may not know exactly what you need to do to get everything you want.

You don’t need to know how to do everything before you actually get started. You just need to have an idea of the general direction and the next few steps. As you take action, you learn a lot. You may think you are making mistakes. The truth is these mistakes are getting you back on track and teaching you what you need to learn to get to your goal.

There are no mistakes, just opportunities to get closer to what you want.

Here are some tips for planning and taking action.

  • Do your research and enlist help in figuring out how to get what you need. This is especially true if you are building a business. You don’t’ have to do anything alone.
  • Don’t get stuck in analyzing. Plans change. Have a general plan. Let the details figure themselves out as you go. If you need the details (you might need that for you), go ahead and plan, but don’t spend more than a week planning.
  • If you don’t know where to start, ask yourself what you do know. If you don’t know how to do it, you can google it to find out. Then you have to try. It will be uncomfortable. Eventually, it will get easier. I look at this as learning to dance with the universe.
  • Keep taking action until you get what you want.

One more thing… Have fun.

#3 Keep Your Vibration Up

The work in manifesting anything is to actually focus on what you need to do, and to feel as good as possible along the way.

Do anything that makes you feel good.

  • Share the best part of your day on Facebook (it works).
  • Build up your faith bowl. Write all the things that are going well and put them in a jar. See the jar grow. When you feel like you don’t have faith anymore, look at the notes in the jar.
  • Dance, sing, play the drums.
  • Go out for a run/walk in nature.

Choices are unlimited.

I’ll be honest: keeping up my vibration is what I struggle with the most.

My natural tendency is to buckle down and power through everything. Buckling down is good up to a point, but it does create resistance, which lowers your vibration. I have to counter that with lots of action to keep feeling good. If you are in the same boat, keep practicing.

#4 Let Go of Control and Trust the Universe Has your Back

Manifesting is also about trusting the universe has your back.

This step is about knowing whatever you do, you will eventually figure things out. The universe will eventually get you what you need.

Last November, I asked the universe to sort out the money thing for me. I told the universe to bring it to me in the highest and best way. I kept hearing not to worry. I didn’t. I totally trusted that things would come. Eight days later, I had a job. Interestingly enough, I also kept hearing I would have that job for as long as I needed to support me financially. It lasted ten days. I believe with all my heart that is exactly what I needed.

Trusting the universe isn’t always easy, but it is necessary to manifest what you want.

If you don’t know where to start, start with Pam Grout’s books E-Squared and E-Cubed. If you need a little a bit of one on one help to work through your resistance, book a session with me.

The sooner you let go of control, the sooner you can manifest more.

#5 Clear your Resistance

You will encounter resistance throughout the manifesting process.

It can come in many forms. It might be you have some limiting beliefs that stop you from believing or taking action. You might encounter those as feeling overwhelmed and unable to act. It might just be you have to fight to keep your vibration high or you feel anxious. It could be you feel super anxious.

Resistance is normal. Your job is to let it go.

There are lots of ways to do that. You can tap it away with EFT (google it). You can enlist someone to help you through it. The sooner you get through it, the closer you are to manifesting.

Are you ready to do your part and let the universe do its part?

You might find it challenging to believe or to take action. Ditto for keeping your vibration high and letting go. You will probably need to reach deep within you to release resistance. This is all part of co-creating with the universe.

Don’t give up. Just keep going.

Law of Attraction on Blackboard with Words

Law of Attraction on Blackboard with Words

Last week, we talked about how to make what a list of what you want. If you haven’t had a chance to do that yet, click here to find out how. This week, we’re going to talk about how to actually ask the universe for what you want.

When you ask the universe for what you want, it brings it every time. (Click to tweet).

It happened to one of my clients.

When she came to see me, she was barely making enough money to survive. Throughout our time together, I kept seeing an accountant as her guardian angel. I told her about it and discovered she hadn’t done her taxes in a while because she was afraid of how much she might owe. She left the session with the intention of getting them done.

Turns out, she didn’t have to pay taxes at all. In fact, she got a refund. She finished with $8,500 in her pocket. Pretty sweet.

What would you do with $8,500?

If the idea of asking the universe sounds weird or too woo-woo for you, take this as a challenge to ask anyway. No one is comfortable asking at first. The good news is it gets easier over time.

There are lots of ways to ask. My tip is to pick one that makes you somewhat comfortable.

Find a way that works for you.

Some people think you have to meditate for yours on what you want. In actuality, you only have to spend a minutes every day asking for what you want. I do it seven days a week, in early evening. It’s what works for me.

The first option is to use to a guided meditation. You shouldn’t have a problem finding one on the internet. Feel free to download mine here. It’s called “Manifest More. Yes You can” and takes less than 15 minutes.

Another option is to follow these next 4 steps.

Step 1: Make a List of What you want

If you have your list, take it out here.

If you don’t have one, check out last week article here to create one.

Step 2: Raise your Vibration

Your vibration represents the strength of the energy coming out of you. The higher your vibration, the more you attract what you want. The more your vibration matches what you want, the easier is to attract it.

Translation? The better you feel, the easier it is to attract what you want.

You can choose hard emotions like anger and sadness, but they won’t help you manifest what you want. Go for joy and love – feel good.

So, to raise your vibration, ask yourself what makes you feel good. Then go do it.

If you aren’t sure, here are five things you can do right now to raise your vibration.

  • Take 10 deep breaths. In through your nose on the count of 4, hold for 4, and exhale for 4. Increase the count by one with each round.
  • Play music that makes you happy. This one takes about 2-3 minutes to do.
  • Run or do 10 jumping jacks. Moving not only gets your heart pumping, it also raises your vibration.
  • Send love and appreciation. Spend 5-10 minutes sending love and appreciation to everything. Thank your chair. Be grateful for your clients – even a lack of clients because it gives you free time. The goal is to find the good in everything.

Do what makes you feel better for as long as you like. If you already do something in your day that makes you feel better, like yoga or running, add the next two steps after you finish.

Step 3: Speak your request aloud

Now that your vibration is up, take your list lout and say the following.

  • Repeat this 3 times: “Energy of creation, I demand your help in co-creating my desires with me.” Demand is a strong word for most of us. Use it. It’s your birthright.
  • Read your list aloud three times. Replace “I want” with “I have.” This creates a tune-up in the vibration of what you are attracting. If you want, you attract wanting. If you have, you attract having.
  • Repeat this 3 times: “Energy of creation, thank you for co-creating with me. It is done. It is done. It is done. Show me.”

Step 4: Go about your day

Focus on what you are doing. Keep taking action toward your goals. Next week, I’ll go deeper. For now, focus on taking action.

If it is, try it anyway. Let the universe surprise you.

So there are the 4 steps to ask the universe for what you want. Get clear on your list, raise your vibration, make a verbal request then let go and focus on working toward your goal.

You’ve got this.

Next week, I’ll talk to you about what you need to after you let go.
I want to know.

What’s your favorite way of asking the universe? Let me know in the comments.

What did the universe surprise you?

How to manifest like a pro

Blog-Header-Image-35

Did you know the universe can help you manifest anything you want? Including more clients and cash?

The universe is always supporting you in manifesting your deepest inner desires. This gets tricky sometimes because the universe will help you manifest things you didn’t even know you asked for.

As humans, we all have conflicting desires and the universe picks up on your strongest signals. So in order to manifest what you want, you need t
o learn how to amplify your signals – by getting super clear on what you want.

The first step is to make a list of what you want. There are no right or wrong lists, but there are things you can do to make sure you are clear in your desires and sending the universe the right signals.

Here are five tips for asking for what you want with clarity:

#1 Be specific.

Your job is to be clear about what you truly desire.

As easy as it is to understand this concept, it’s also one of the hardest things for most of us to do. In general, people have an idea of where they want to go, but no idea what it will look like once they have it. We say we want abundance, joy and happiness. But what does that look like in your life? An abundance of what? Happiness about what?

If you stay general, the universe will decide for you how abundance, joy and happiness arrive.

If you want to be happy, the universe might send you all kinds of things that make you happy – that you don’t really want.

What if you asked for joy and the universe brought you a baby?

What if you want abundance and instead of sending you clients, the universe sends you a rich husband you don’t love?

Stuff like this happens all the time. The universe is funny that way.

It is your birthright to choose how you manifest your desires. So be specific about what you actually want. It will save you a ton of time and frustration.

Here are a few questions to help you get started:

  • What do you want?
  • What do you desire?
  • How do you want to feel?
  • What will your life be life be like when you do receive it?
  • What will it feel like to have this in your life?
  • What is your true intention

There is no such thing as being too specific. You do your part and the universe will the do the rest.

#2 Check that everything on your list excites you.

This is your life.

That means everything on your list should excite you. You have the right to be in love with what you do, your business. Exercise that freedom. If you are not in love with what you do or who you help, or what you are offering, change it.

Remember, there are no shoulds or have tos. You set the rules.

#3 Don’t ask when something will happen.

Scratch all requests that sound like, “I want to know when I will have abundance.”

The universe doesn’t decide. You do.

You decide it’s yours to claim and then the universe helps you get it. That means you must assume it’s yours for the taking and it’s possible now.

Replace those types of requests with requests for guidance. “How can I manifest even more money now?”

Assume everything is possible. Better yet, assume it’s already done.

#4 Forget negatives statements.

Scratch anything from your list that’s in the negative.

For example:

  • I don’t want to be poor.
  • I don’t want these clients.
  • I don’t want to take more training.
  • I don’t want to gain another ten pounds.

There are three reasons for this.

First, the negative doesn’t mean you want the opposite. For example, what does not being poor look like?

Second, the universe doesn’t actually hear the word don’t (and can’t). When you state things in the negative, you are actually saying them in the positive. “I don’t want to be poor,” turns into “I want to be poor.”

Third, the law of attraction says you attract what you focus on. By focusing on what you don’t want, you attract more of it.

Want what you want because you desire it, not because you don’t have it.

Scratch all negatives and replace with positive affirmations.

#5 Stretch the amount you request.

Go beyond wanting just enough. Just enough to pay the bills. Just enough to be comfortable, but not too comfortable.

It’s not somehow wrong to ask and to receive all you desire.

It’s your birth right to ask for of all what you want. You aren’t at this planet to be miserable. You have the right to be happy and rich if that is what you desire.

It is also possible for you to manifest it.

Ask for everything you want, plus a bit more to enjoy life.

You can stretch as much as you like, but you must believe it’s actually possible to receive it. You can ask for a million dollars, but if in your mind it’s impossible, it’s going to be impossible to manifest.

Specify something that is possible. Keep stretching it as you get closer to it.

You have a birthright to ask for everything you want. (Click to tweet.)

Remember, we manifest what we want by being specific and double-checking we actually want what’s on the list.

Then we replace negative statements with positive.

Don’t forget to stretch beyond your comfort zone and leave room for the universe to figure how to bring clients and money to you.

Get your list ready because I’ll be back next week with tips on how the ask the universe for what you want.

How to Manifest When You’re Filled with Doubt and Fear

Blog-Header-Image-36
You can let doubt and fear stop you from showing up in your business. Or you can accept that it’s part of the process and do good work anyway.

Self-doubt makes us surf Facebook and stalk blogs of women we admire. It makes us put together websites and only occasionally tell people what we do (and then take a day to recover from the anxiety).

It stops us from doing what we need to do to succeed – because we’re so sure we aren’t good enough.

Not being visible. Not following your heart. Not promoting yourself. Giving up far too easily.

Self-doubt and fear get in the way of manifesting clients and cash.

For me, that meant taking a full year to grow my list to 100 subscribers – and most were friends and family. My website was flat. Truth be told, I kind of didn’t like being in business.

But the moment I started to let my heart guide me, instead of fear and doubt, things started to change.

I have five-figure months. I’m totally in love with the work I do, how I show up and how I help people. My list continues to grow, as does my audience and client base.

Still, I want to give more. It feels awesome.

When you let your heart guide you, instead of fear and doubt, you manifest a business you love.

I know it’s easier than done. That’s why I want to bring you my top three tips for getting shit done when you are filled with self-doubt. Because it doesn’t have to get in the way.

Tip 1: Send the FEAR and Doubt to the Couch to watch TV.

I used this tip all the time with my clients.

Whenever my clients are overwhelmed by fear and doubt, I ask them to imagine the fear and doubt as a light. Then I ask them to imagine this light coming out of their heart into a brilliant ball of light. Then I ask them to send it to the couch to watch TV. Whenever clients do this, they are able to separate themselves from the fear and bring their awareness elsewhere.

I also use this trick whenever I teach people how to do angel readings. Whenever I announce the exercise, the room goes completely quiet and the tension goes up. In other words, fear and doubt. After putting the fear and doubt on the couch, 99 percent of them are able to do the reading. I have to tell you it’s always an honor to watch them do something that just a minute believed to be impossible. It’s magical.
Next time you experience fear and doubt, give a try.

TIP 2: Take baby steps outside your comfort zone.

Noting happens without action, so it’s important to actually start doing even if they are just baby steps even there is doubt and fear.

What can you do to stretch yourself just a little bit outside your comfort zone?

A friend of mine wanted to do motivational talks, but he was afraid of talking to strangers. He started by going to the park and asking strangers for the time. Then he started striking up conversations with complete strangers. One baby step at a time, he finally made his way to motivational speaking. Now he speaks to an audience of 30 or more every single week.
What would stretch you outside your comfort zone?

Not sure, what about?

  • Tell 15 people what you do in your business.
  • Ask 15 people to tell you what your top three qualities are.
  • Ask at least five women you know to interview them for your business.
  • Send a promotion to your list.

I want to know… what will you do stretch yourself outsize your comfort zone today.

TIP 3: Dig, appreciate, release, do.

Digging is the process of figuring out the real issue.

It’s never about the fear or doubt itself. There’s always something underneath that’s even more important. For me, it’s like a brick wall. Your current fear is a top brick. You can take it off, but you still have the rest of the wall to deal with. It’s much more efficient to actually dig and find the bottom brick and clear that one.

The best way to dig is to get curious and yourself the five W questions.

Here’s an example:

I’m afraid to ask clients to interview them. Why are you afraid? Because they will say no. What happens then? I will feel feed bad, like I did something wrong. What happens when you do something wrong? I get punished. What’s the worst part about being punished? I’m get locked in my room. What happens then? I’m separate from everyone.  The real fear is the fear of being separate.

Once you find the real issue, you must appreciate and release it.

There’s lots of techniques to release a fear, but EFT works well (google it). When I work with clients, I use techniques from Theta Healing (energy healing modality).

If you need help to do this, get it. It’s well worth the investment.

Follow up with action.

However you deal with it, don’t forget to actually following with doing. Without action, nothing happens.

It’s not possible to have zero doubt or fears, but you deal with them determines how good you are at manifesting cash and clients.
I’ve just given you three ways to deal with tips. You can send off to watch TV, ignore it and take baby steps or you can go a little deeper.

Your fears are holding you back from manifesting more clients now. Here’s how to fix that. Take my FREE training. Click here to get your access.

Which fear are you facing today? Which tip will you use to help you face it? The soon you deal with it, the sooner you will manifest what you’ve been dreaming off.

How to Manifest Clients that Chase You … It’s Possible!

Blog-Header-Image-37

I used to be in the business of chasing clients.

I did everything with one goal in mind: get people (it didn’t matter who) to hire me and fork over some money. I gave lots of free stuff with the expectation that people would buy from me.

Very few did.

Time went by and I grew disappointed and frustrated. I just

couldn’t figure out what was happening. I was usually so good at getting things done. Then my business coach rocked my world. She told me this, “You are not in the business of chasing clients.”

That’s when the lightbulb when on. My job wasn’t to convince people to buy from me. My job was to get out there, give people choices, and let them choose for themselves I didn’t need to pull clients to me, I needed to let clients come to me if they so choose.

I stopped chasing clients that day.

I’m now having more fun in my business than I have in years. I’m also helping way more people. That feels awesome.

The only way to manifest more clients is to stop chasing them and let them come to you.

Have you been chasing clients? Ready to stop?

Here are 3 things you must do if you want clients to do the chasing instead.

  1. Be helpful without expectation.

Make a decision right now that you are no longer in the business of chasing clients. Write down, “No Chasing.” on a sticky note and stick it to your computer. That’s just not what you do anymore.

Instead go out and be helpful.

Avoiding doing it because you want people to hire you. Give from the heart.

Trust me, you’ll receive hundreds of heartfelt thanks!

I’m not saying let go of the need and desire to have paying clients. You need that desire in order to manifest it. What I am saying is stop deciding how that should happen. Tit for that just doesn’t work.

  1. Become the Magnet

As an entrepreneur you have a magnetic ability.

As a magnet, you extend your energy outward into the universe. This energy then magnetized potential clients to you. The beauty of it is that it’s based on free will.  As a magnet, you do not attempt to convince. As a magnet, you simply let people know who you are and how you can help them.

Your job as a magnet is to let people get to know, like, and trust you.

To do that you must create opportunities for people to get know, like, trust you. You need to create lots of these opportunities. And you must do so consistently. Remember it takes seven touch points before people know, like, and trust you enough to buy from you.

  1. Answer this, “What do I want?”

In order for the universe to help you, you must know what you want. In order for you take action and to believe that things possible, you must first know what you want. In order to go out and become the magnet you are meant to be, you must first know who you want to attract.

Don’t believe me? Consider this example.

When I first thought Theta Healing (energy healing modality), I was super clear that I wanted to teach classes so that I could afford to take more Theta Healing classes. Within 8 months I had manifested 25K and 42 students. More than enough to cover the cost of the training.

As soon as the training was done, I stopped manifesting students.

It wasn’t for the lack of trying though. I was lucky to get one person for a weekend workshop. The people that I did manage to book mostly cancelled. As hard as this was, I wasn’t surprised. I knew was because I just didn’t know if I wanted to teach or not. The universe heard my confusion and kept my classes empty.

You must help the universe by knowing what you want. Start with the following questions:

  • What do you want?
  • Who do you want to work with?
  • What problems do you solve for them?
  • How do you solve it from them?
  • How much tie do you want to spend working in a week?
  • Do you really want to leave your day job?

If you don’t know what you want, that’s totally cool. Give yourself permission to start with baby steps. You don’t need to have it all figured out. What does your heart tell you? Listen to it, it will guide you.

Everything is possible, but you must first know what it is you want.

So I’ve just shared with you 3 things you must do if you want to stop chasing clients and have clients chase you.  Go out and be helpful and become so magnetic that people can’t resist you. Before you do that all of that, don’t forget to clear on what you want.

If you need a little 1:1 help to call your clients into your life, check out “Super Charge Your Client Magnet.”

So now I want to hear from you:

Are you still chasing clients? If not, any hints for the rest of us?

The Real Reasons It took Me Years to Quit My Day Job

What needs to happen before you quit your day job?

If you are anything like me, your answer will probably include having a successful business and/or winning the lottery.

It’s not until I quit my job that I realized the truth.

Quitting my day job had little to DO with financial security.

For years, I had proclaimed that I lacked the financial freedom to leave my day job behind. It wasn’t true. There were other things in play. Today I’m confessing them.

I’m hoping that you will be inspired to dig deeper and figure out what is really stopping you quitting your job. Once you know, you’ll be that much closer to making your dream business your day job.

Confession 1: I didn’t think it was possible to have a successful business.

I grew up in a family where both of my parents worked. I believed that I had to work for someone else in order to make money. I thought success was going to school and working for a big corporation.

Just in case you are wondering … I knew better and still this belief was well rooted in my DNA.

I needed to know that my business could work before I actually left my job for good.

Letting go of this limiting belief took time because I had to build up my faith bowl. I had to have enough faith to overshadow the doubt. I put a pebble in the faith bowl every time I had a client pay me. I put another every time I learned of others who had successful businesses. I put another every time I learned a new skill. It took time, but eventually the faith bowl over shadowed the doubt.

Only when the faith overshadowed the doubt was I able to leave.

Confession 2: I thought I should stay in a job I loved

The hardest decision of my career was leaving my position at CN (Canadian Railway).

As much as I liked to complain about the place, I loved everything about it. It was an exciting and dynamic place to work. I spent a lot of my time working on stressful projects. I learned how to get shit done. I was valued for it.

Oh and I loved the people I worked with.

Leaving was hard.

The truth is that it took me so long because I had so much to learn by being there. The last and probably the biggest learning was that it’s okay to leave just because I wanted to do something different.

The truth is that giving myself permission to leave took years.

Confession 3: I thought I could commit to my business and keep my day job as a safety net.

I really wanted this to be true.

The more I progressed in my business, the more it became apparent that I could not keep doing both.

There were days where I was so tired that I didn’t pick up the phone when clients called. I ignored emails. I couldn’t get consistent with communication because there just wasn’t enough time to do everything. I didn’t market myself.

All I wanted was time to rest.

I tried to do because I wanted the perfect plan. I wanted a safety net so that if things didn’t work out I wouldn’t fall to my death. Here’s the thing: there is no perfect plan. There is only a commitment to making it happen.

The truth is that I only committed when I let go of my safety net. Only then was I willing to do whatever it took.

In you are in the same boat as me, I don’t want you think that you have to quit your job: only you know that. The real question you must ask yourself is this, “When is the right time?”

Confession 4: I thought I couldn’t follow my heart.

I teach people to follow and trust their intuition all the time, so it’s kind of ironic that I tried to build a business by ignoring my own heart.

There was just something in me that said a business had to be 100% rational. Including your heart in a business was a recipe for disaster.

That’s how I ended up with GetProjectsYouLove.Com. In this business, I was to help female project managers move their careers up to the next level. Rationally it made completely sense because I was a project manager. My heart had something different to say. It screamed, “NO…………..!”

I followed my business coach advice and kept with it.

A week after we finished working together, I dropped it and followed my heart. At the time, my heart was saying weight-loss coaching. I could feel it in every cell of my being. I just knew it was right. Overnight, I started finding clients. I started to talk about my business with enthusiasm. I was now ready to do whatever it took to make it work.

The only way I was ever going to leave my job was if I followed my heart and built a business I loved.

WHAT ARE THE REAL REASONS YOU ARE STILL IN YOUR DAY JOB?

I’ve just confessed the 4 real reasons why it took me so long to leave my day job.

For me to jump ship, I had to believe that building was possible. I also had to learn to trust to follow my heart. I had to realize that it was OKAY to want something different even when things are good. Finally, I had to let go of my security blanket and just go for it.

So now, I want to know… what are the real reasons you haven’t left your day job behind? Tell me in the comment box below.
